about ZGA

natural light

We are a small, highly passionate multi-disciplinary architectural studio which strives to create truly unique outcomes for our clients and projects. At ZGA, our projects have a refined simplicity with careful consideration to the sculpting of space, use of natural light, texture, materiality, and playfulness. We ensure all our projects provide custom spaces and tailored solutions for the client and their expectations.

Intelligent design can come in many sizes, and we enjoy the challenges of designing small footprint buildings. We encourage our clients to embrace building practices that are sustainable. We work with our clients in every stage of the design process to ensure a high quality outcome for the built project.

We work across a diverse range of scales and types of projects. Every project is approached with rigour and consideration whether it be commercial design to residential alterations or interiors.

architecture in detail

Our experience of place is felt through our senses, our rational mind and memory. Architecture must withstand repeat testing by its occupants, for its lifetime.

ZGA believes in the importance of the detail, the ‘human element’ in architecture. Without thought, crafting and collaboration, architecture falls short of its true potential.

The detail is critical to creating environments for people to engage with.

Building a foundation of knowledge and interest in the industry, Taran started out on the tools as a carpenter working for architectural builders throughout parts of Melbourne. After a number of years on site Taran has moved on to undertake studies at RMIT Architecture to further develop his skills and understanding of the industry. Taran brings a keen and positive attitude to ZGA STUDIO while he aims to stay in touch with the realities of the architectural practice throughout his studies.

During this time he worked on a number of challenging projects exploring the potential of a digitally crafted architecture.
